CITB Health and Safety Awareness Course in Sutton Coldfield

This CITB Health and Safety Awareness (HSA) course runs at the Vesey House training centre in Sutton Coldfield, delivered by PGL Midlands.

Course Duration

One day, typically running 9am to 5pm, with the assessment completed the same day.

Delivery Method

Classroom-based and tutor-led. The session is interactive, using group discussion, case studies and practical examples drawn from modern construction sites.

What You'll Learn

• The general responsibilities of workers and employers
• Typical construction hazards and how to control them
• Risk assessments and safe working practices
• Health and welfare on site, including PPE and manual handling
• Fire prevention and emergency procedures
• Working at height and site transport safety
• How to report unsafe acts and accidents

Assessment

A multiple-choice assessment, taken on the same day as the training.

Certification

Successful delegates receive a CITB Site Safety Plus Health and Safety Awareness certificate, valid for five years and recognised by major contractors nationwide.

Entry Requirements

A good understanding of spoken and written English. You will need to bring valid photo identification, such as a passport or driving licence.

Good to Know

HSA is one part of the route to a CSCS Green Labourer Card. You must also pass the CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) Operatives Test, which is a separate multiple-choice test sat at a Pearson VUE test centre rather than on this course.
