Who the Level 3 Formwork NVQ is for

This NVQ is built for experienced formworkers and shuttering carpenters, as well as falsework operatives and reinforced concrete specialists, who want their advanced skills formally recognised. It also suits self-employed tradespeople, operatives looking to progress and employers qualifying their existing teams.

What the Level 3 Formwork NVQ covers

Delivery Method

NVQ – evidence from your own site work is uploaded to an electronic portfolio, with support remotely, face to face or a blend of both. There are no classroom sessions, no day release and no written exams.

Course Duration

Many learners finish in around 4 to 8 weeks, depending on their experience, availability and how quickly they provide evidence. You can also progress at your own pace.

Course Content

The qualification covers advanced formwork activity on construction sites, including erecting, adjusting and striking formwork and falsework for concrete structures, working safely and to specification, and producing work that meets the required quality standards.

Assessment

• An induction reviews your current experience and knowledge before you start
• Evidence such as site photos, completed projects, RAMS, site diaries, work logs and witness testimonies
• Professional discussion with your assessor
• On-site observation and photo or video evidence

Certification

ProQual Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Formwork (qualification number 603/0645/2). The package includes a CITB test and support with your CSCS card application, which is handled for you once you are certificated.
