What the Level 6 NVQ in Senior Site Inspection involves

Delivery Method

NVQ – assessed in the workplace. There are no classroom sessions, no day release and no written exams. You upload evidence from your inspection work to an electronic portfolio, and assessors review it remotely, with support available remotely, face to face or a mix of both.

Course Duration

Many learners complete in about 4–8 weeks, depending on experience, availability and evidence. A fast-track option is available and you can set your own pace.

Course Content

The qualification covers senior inspection work: checking construction against specifications and regulations, quality assurance and compliance, recording and reporting defects, and keeping clear project records. Your assessor confirms the unit combination with you at induction.

Prerequisites

There are no formal entry qualifications, but you should already be working in a senior inspection role in construction. An induction at enrolment reviews your experience.

Is there an exam?

No. There are no written exams, classroom sessions or day release. You are assessed on evidence from your normal work, recorded in an electronic portfolio, together with professional discussion with your assessor.

How long does the NVQ take?

Which CSCS card does it lead to?

Do I need to be working in the role?
