Choosing an e-learning course
Online courses vary far more than the listings suggest. Four things are worth checking on any course page before you buy, whichever provider it comes from.
Who accredits it
An accredited qualification carries an awarding body behind it — IOSH, NEBOSH, Highfield, IATP and so on. A CPD-certified or provider-certificated course is still perfectly valid training, but it is a different thing. Envico states which applies on every listing rather than blurring the two.
How it is assessed
Most e-learning ends in a multiple-choice test with a pass mark, and many allow re-attempts. Longer qualifications may require a written assessment or an invigilated exam booked separately. The course page sets out what is involved.
How long you get
Study time and access periods differ by provider — some give a fixed window from activation, others leave it open. If you are buying licences to allocate over a year, check the access period before you buy in bulk.
When it needs refreshing
Refresh periods are set by the awarding body or by your own risk assessment rather than by us. Many awareness topics are refreshed annually. Build the interval into your training matrix so renewals are planned rather than discovered.
What works online, and what does not
The honest version, because getting this wrong wastes money and leaves a compliance gap that only surfaces when someone is refused site access.

Buying licences for a team
Buying seat by seat through the checkout works perfectly well for one or two people. Past that, a single quoted order is considerably less administration — one invoice, one record, and licences you can hold and allocate as people join.
Substantial requirements
E-learning is not discounted as standard — prices are set by the provider and quoted consistently, so your budget holders are comparing stable figures. Where a requirement is large enough to be worth raising, Envico will take the numbers to the provider and come back with whatever can be done. Anything agreed is confirmed in writing before you commit.
Hold them until needed
Licences do not have to be used at once. Buy for the year and allocate them to new starters as they arrive, rather than repeating a purchase every time someone joins.

E-learning questions
How soon can I start?
Usually the same day. Once your order is confirmed the provider issues access details, generally within a few working hours and often immediately. Where a provider sets learners up manually it can take until the next working day. If you are up against a deadline, say so with your order and we will flag it.
Is an online certificate as valid as a classroom one?
Where the same qualification is offered in both formats, yes — the content, assessment and certification are set by the awarding body, not by how the course was delivered. What differs is which qualifications are available online at all. Anything requiring practical assessment cannot be certificated purely online, and a course that claims otherwise is worth a second look.
Will a principal contractor accept an e-learning certificate for site access?
It depends entirely on the qualification and the contractor's own rules, which are often stricter than the legal minimum. Awareness topics are generally accepted. Site safety schemes and card-linked qualifications usually are not, because the awarding body requires classroom delivery. If a specific contractor has set a requirement, check their wording before buying — and tell us what it says if you are unsure which course satisfies it.
What device do I need?
A computer, tablet or phone with a modern browser and a reasonable internet connection. Most courses save your progress so you can stop and resume. Some longer qualifications are more comfortable on a full screen, and a few include downloadable materials worth printing.

Do you discount bulk e-learning licences?
Not as standard. E-learning prices are set by the accredited provider and quoted consistently, which means the figure you take to a budget holder is the same one anybody else would be quoted. Where a requirement is large enough to be worth raising, Envico will put the numbers to the provider and come back with whatever can be done — but it is a conversation about a specific requirement, not a published rate card. How do I keep track of who has completed what?

Do you deliver these courses yourselves?
No. Envico is an independent training intermediary and has arranged workplace training since 2003. Every e-learning course is delivered and certificated by the accredited provider named on the listing. That independence is what allows Envico to list courses from hundreds of providers and recommend on the basis of what suits the requirement.
