Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (FAW)

This 3-day course is based on the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) training standard for First Aid at Work and is designed to give delegates the knowledge and practical skills needed to act as a workplace first aider under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The course covers a wide range of first aid situations, from CPR and AED use through to managing fractures, burns, and medical emergencies such as heart attack, stroke and anaphylaxis.

Course Location

This course runs at our training centre in Rainham, Kent, ME8 8BE. We can also deliver this course at your workplace if suitable facilities are available – get in touch to discuss in-house options.

Who Should Attend

This course is for anyone with a designated first aid responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities. It's ideal for staff being appointed as workplace first aiders under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, and is based on the HSE training standard for delivery of First Aid at Work (FAW) courses.

  • Assessing an incident
  • Managing an unresponsive casualty
  • CPR and AED use

  • Heart attack, stroke, choking, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes and anaphylactic shock
  • Head and spinal injuries, chest injuries
  • Wounds and bleeding, fractures, sprains, strains and dislocations
  • Minor injuries, burns and scalds
  • Poisoning and eye injuries

Course Duration

This is a 3-day course.

Assessment

Delegates are assessed throughout the course through practical activities, a test paper and a practical assessment.

Certification

On successful completion, delegates receive a Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (FAW) certificate, valid for 3 years.
