Our First Aid at Work (FAW) course is a training workshop that covers all the skills needed to become a qualified first aider. You will learn the roles and responsibilities of a first aider and how to attend to various symptoms and injuries.

Above all, you will be able to apply the techniques you learn on a casualty, until emergency services arrive.

Course Content

The content covered in the course includes both classroom and practical demonstrations. The trainer delivers the course through a variety of case studies and group discussions.

The trainer will cover the following subjects on the course:

Unit 1

The day to day role of a first-aider

The roles and responsibilities, reducing infection risk, and the requirement for consent.

Assessing an incident

The primary survey, and carrying out a scene survey.

Assessment

You must complete a minimum of 18-hours of contact time with the tutor to pass the course. This qualification is assessed through practical demonstration and a multiple-choice theory test. The tutor will also continually evaluate your understanding over the three days of the course.

For short courses a completion certificate is available at the end of the course. You can screenshot this or print it out to confirm completion of the training.

For accredited courses a certificate will be sent directly to you from the appropriate awarding body.
