IOSH Managing Safely is the most widely recognised health and safety course for managers and supervisors in the UK. It is designed for anyone with responsibility for the safety of others, giving them the practical understanding needed to assess risk, investigate incidents and measure performance, without committing to a full health and safety qualification.

The course is delivered over three days and covers the manager's legal and moral responsibilities, how to identify and control hazards in their own work area, and how to build safety into everyday decisions rather than treating it as a separate exercise.

Managers, supervisors, team leaders and anyone with responsibility for the health and safety of employees, contractors or visitors. No prior health and safety knowledge is required.

Assessment and Certification

Delegates complete a multiple-choice assessment and a practical risk assessment project. Successful delegates receive the IOSH Managing Safely certificate, which is recognised across all industry sectors. A refresher course is recommended every three years.
