Course Overview

The Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) covers the health, safety, welfare and environmental issues a site supervisor deals with, their legal responsibilities, and how to supervise effectively. It is endorsed by Build UK.

Who should attend?

Anyone who already has, or is about to take on, supervisory responsibilities on a construction site.

• Health and safety law and the supervisor's responsibilities
• Risk assessments and method statements
• Site inductions and toolbox talks
• Monitoring site activities and intervening when work is unsafe
• Welfare and environmental issues

Course Duration

2 days

Validity of Award

5 years. Take the SSSTS Refresher before it expires, or retake the full course.

Delivery Method

Classroom-based and tutor-led at Safety Mundo's training centre, Irvin House, Icknield Way, Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire, SG6 1EF, a few minutes from junction 9 of the A1(M).

On successful completion, your certificate is issued by the relevant awarding or scheme body. City & Guilds 6160-09 confined space courses lead to a City & Guilds Level 2 Award. PASMA courses lead to a PASMA certificate and photocard. CITB Health and Safety Awareness, SSSTS, SMSTS, Temporary Works Coordinator and Temporary Works Supervisor lead to a CITB Site Safety Plus certificate, valid for five years. Emergency First Aid at Work certificates are valid for three years.

Its training centre has five training rooms, two of which open directly onto a dedicated confined space training area. It is accredited by City & Guilds for confined space training, approved as a PASMA training centre and runs CITB Site Safety Plus courses. Open courses cover confined space entry, CITB site safety, mobile access towers, first aid, manual handling, abrasive wheels, ladders and working at height. Safety Mundo also supplies breathing apparatus, gas detection equipment and confined space rescue cover.
