CITB SSSTS Course for Site Supervisors and Construction Team Leaders
The CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) is a two-day course designed to provide supervisors and junior managers with a solid understanding of health and safety responsibilities within the construction industry. It equips delegates with the knowledge required to effectively monitor, control and promote safe working practices on site.
The course focuses on legal responsibilities, risk management and the importance of clear communication and supervision to maintain a safe working environment. Delegates will learn how to contribute to site safety through proper instruction, monitoring of activities and ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation.
Training is delivered through classroom-based sessions, including instructor-led presentations and discussions, followed by a multiple-choice assessment. Key topics include health and safety law and CDM regulations, risk assessments and method statements, accident reporting, leadership and workforce engagement, and the management of workplace hazards such as manual handling, working at height, plant operations and hazardous substances.
This course is ideal for site supervisors, foremen, team leaders and first-line managers responsible for overseeing operatives on construction sites.

Certification Upon Completion
On successful completion, delegates will receive a CITB SSSTS certificate valid for five years, demonstrating competence in supervising health and safety within the construction sector.
